If you cut your own lawn, I recommend the following equipment:
1. Toro Personal Pace Lawn Mower: this is a great lawn mower, very fast, self propeeled. Entry level lawn mowing units can be purchased for around $300 or less at home depot or local lawn mowing stores. This mower is great at mowing mulching, and is very durable. We use the commercial editions for our Downers Grove, Naperville, Lisle, Darien, and Woodridge lawn mowing service. We have used many other models and like these the best.
2. Upgrade the blades to gator blades. Google search oregon gator blades and purchase a set. These blades are great and have improved our cut quality by at least 15%. Additionally, it may help you to mulch long grass if you do not want to bag.
3. Purchase an SRM-210 weed whacker. These units are great, lightweight, and easy to start. We have owned several over the years and really like them.

Today’s tip revolves around the following proverb, “an once of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” This is especially true with lawn maintenance and lawn mower maintenance.

In Downers Grove, Westmont, Darien, Woodridge, and many of the surrounding areas, there are often restrictions for watering that make it so that you can not water your lawn every day. For Downers Grove, for example, the day you can water your lawn is based on the numbering of your house. If your house ends in an off number, such as 5711, you can water your lawn on odd days of the week. If your house ends in an even number, say 5712, you can only water your lawn during even days of the week. Another thing to be aware of, is that you can only legally water your lawn during certain times of the day. It is permitted that you can water your lawn between 4 a.m.and 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. and 11 p.m. on your watering day. Additionally, these rules take effect from May 15 to September 15 of each calendar year. I hope that this tip is helpful.
