36″ Everride Wasp Lawn Mower Review

I recently purchased a 36″ EverRide Wasp lawn mower and am impressed by the drive system, how easy it is to start and use, and quality of cut. I decided to purchase an EverRide Wasp because I had heard that they are great lawn mowers because they are very reliable and well built.

One nice thing about the wasp is that the wheels engage with a lot of power. Often times, on belt driven lawn mowers like the wasp, the wheels are very hard to engage making it very difficult to turn, go up steep hills, or cut wet grass. The wasp engages the wheels very well which can save you time.

Another nice thing about the lawn mower, it that it is easy to start. It generally starts on the 1st pull, and runs very well, even after being run for an entire day straight. Additionally, the lawn mower has several safety mechanisms that can prevent it from engaging the blades at the wrong time, or driving the wheels at the wrong times.

Overall, the EverRide lawn mower is a great lawn mower and one that I would reccomend to a homeowner with a large yard or someone who runs a lawn mowing service and needs an effecient lawn mower that can fit into tight areas.

Should I water my lawn?

A lot of people this time of the year are debating on whether or not to water there lawn. In our experience, you really should water your lawn if you want to ensure your lawns health and that your lawn will continue to be healthy for this year and later parts in the summers.  It can make your lawn greener, better looking, and healthier.  One thing that you need to be careful about, is obeying local ordinances when watering your lawn, the village of Downers Grove, for example, has certian regulations that a person must follow in order to water there lawn.  In whatever town you live in, you will want to check with the town 1st for the days and times that you are allowed to water, before you water, in order to avoid a ticket.  This holds true also in Naperville and many towns in the Lisle and Woodridge area.    I hope that this article makes you consider watering your lawn and that your lawn thrives through out the summer.  Please feel free to contact us if you need any yard work down, your lawn mowed, bushes trimmed, or any related work.  We have the time, experience, and know how on how to make your lawn look great!

Toro Personal Pace 20036 Super Recycler Review

This article will discuss the costs and benefits associated with owning a Toro Personal Pace Lawn Mower, model 20036.

I would like to begin by sating that I have owned at least 20″, 21″, ir 22″ push lawn mowers as I run a lawn mowing service and go through quite a few lawn mowers. That being said, I have a lot of experience with the different mowers out there, including: Honda, Craftsman, Yard Machine, and Several others. In term of functionality, the Toro Personal Pace Trumps them all.

I say this because the Toro Personal Pace Lawn mowers feature a self propelled system that adjusts to the speed that the operator walks. The more pressure a person applies to the handle, the faster it goes. Inversely, the less pressure a person puts on the handle the slower it goes. This dynamic system can give a person greater control of there lawn mower and thus help them make straighter lines, a better looking yard and make the lawn mowing experience more enjoyable. That being said, the Toro Personal Pace line is by far my favorite to use.

On a different note, the Toro 20036 mower has had several minor problems since I have owned it. I have needed to replace the self propelled cable and also needed to change several wheels. Both of these issues are very common and nothing to be alarmed by, especially considering that the mower is being used commercially and not on a residential lawn.

That being said, you may consider buying one new so you can get one with a full warranty. The mowers are often carried at places like home depot, and local lawn mower stores. You can also locate a dealer by using the store locator tool on Toros website.

Tips on Water Conservation Methods for Your Lawn and Garden

Most areas around the region — and country as a whole — have experienced drought conditions at some point this summer. Because this type of pattern is a regularly recurring one, it’s prudent to know the best ways to conserve water while still ensuring your lawn is still healthy and looking its best. After all, our Naperville Landscaping services understands that since part of the whole “green” movement has to do with nurturing a lush, healthy, thriving outdoor environment, you don’t want your conservation efforts to harm your lawn.

Here are a few tips to help you nurture your Naperville lawn and garden while practicing smart consumption (and saving a few dollars):

· Choose native plants around your landscaping that are drought resistant and require less water than more elaborate options. You can opt for ornamental grasses as well as nice shrubbery, like roses.

· Find alternative water sources, such as catching the water that drains from your air conditioning unit and collecting rain runoff in a rain barrel.

· Enrich your soil properly for the best water retention by adding organic material that retains water.

· Design a landscape with fencing to minimize the movement of wind on the ground, which further contributes to evaporation of water.

Irrigate your yard with low-volume systems that draw on smart water conservation principles, using micro-sprinklers and other similar products.

Yard Work, Mulch, Landscaping

We are now offering:
-Yard Work
-Bush Trimming (and)
-Mulch

Over the last several months we have had many customer requests for mulch, bush trimming, and yard work and we are now offering those services to homes in Naperville, Woodridge, Lisle, Bollingbrook, Darien, and the surrounding areas.

Mulch can be a great way to enhance the appearance of your yard and add value to your home. We generally reccomend that a person put down 3″ of mulch, it will last longer (usually at least one season). Additionally, mulch is purchased by the yard and one yard can cover one 10X10 area. Therefore, if you are looking to purchase mulch, I suggest you 1st measure the area you wish to cover and figure out the number of square feet you need before you order. This will help you significantly.

Additionally, bush trimming is something simple, something often neglected, and also something that can make your lawn look dramatically better. This is especially important if you have a house for sale on the market that you are looking to sell right away.

Also, we also offer general yard working, including pulling weeds, planting new flowers, cutting up and removing sticks, and other basic things. Many of our customers dislike doing this type of work because it is time consuming and strenuous, but we have a lot of experience doing this type of work and don’t mind it. Please feel free to contact us if you need mulch installed, yard work done or weeds pulled.

Thanks,

You can purchase a fairly inexpensive set of lawn furniture and several outdoor games and you have all you need for hours of entertainment.

Woodridge Lawn Care Tip

Let’s face it, while it is nice to see some species of birds fluttering around our yards, showing off brightly colored wings and personalities to match, there are times where homeowners encounter birds that are more aggressive and downright pesky.

In fact, these birds can cost homeowners millions of dollars each year just from the acidic nature of their droppings, which can damage paint, wood and even metal. Bird droppings can have a negative effect on the fencing, patio, furnishings and awnings in your yard and is also responsible for the spread of at least 60 different diseases.

So, what can you do? There are actually some very effective — and humane — methods to deter birds from taking over your yard. To start, install a bird spike to keep larger birds, like pigeons and seagulls, away from the surface areas of your yard. These spikes can be installed on roofs and patios and keep birds from landing and/or nesting in the area.

You can also ask your yard maintenance technician to install bird nets over large areas, like plants, shrubs, crops and around other lawn structures. These nets are perfect for deterring bird species of all kinds and provide a wide swatch of coverage for just one product.

If you are looking for a more high-tech approach to removal and deterrence, you might also invest in products that use supersonic systems to broadcast predator and animal distress calls that keep birds away. However, these products are only good for large areas up to five acres.

Some homeowners simply tolerate watching feathered creatures roam around their yards, doing nothing more than munching on bird seed and tweeting here and there. However, for those that find themselves in a situation with more aggressive birds flocking about in large numbers, any of the above methods are perfect to resolve the situation.

Lawn Maintence Tool Review: Echo SRM-210 Gas Trimmer Review

The Echo SRM-210 is the best gas trimmer that I have used and I recommend it because it is lightweight, easy to start, and comparable inexpensive.

I’m not sure of the exact weight of the echo gas trimmer, but it is much lighter than some of the other gas trimmers on the market, including many other made by Echo, or there many competitor Stihl. In my opinion, weight is important because lighter trimmers are easier to balance, and therefore allow users to better trim, edge, and mow their yard.

Additionally, the SRM-210 is very reliable and easy to start. I have owned several SRM-210 Gas trimmers and am pleased with the quality they cut at and have had virtually no problems with its reliability. Additionally, when running a lawn mowing service, you are often running a trimmer for 5 or more hours per day. With many trimmers, they can’t handle it and become hard to start. However, the SRM-210′s I have used are easy to start even after a long day and last a very long time.

At many place the SRM-210 can be purchased under $200. This is great because many trimmers of lesser quality cost much more and will not perform nearly as well as the Echo because they are heavier, harder to start, less reliable on long days.

In Summary, I wish every piece of lawn equipment was made with the same quality and reliability of the SRM-210. If you are looking for a great trimmer for $200 or less, I strongly recommend the SRM-210

Should I mow my lawn every week?

In short, you should mow your lawn when it needs cut. Sometimes it needs cut once per week, and sometimes it needs cut only once every other week. During the summer months grass cutting varies depending on the amount of rain, however, cutting the grass weekly has many benefits. Weekly cutting helps to beautify your yard and it helps to keep the weeds down. Your yard will look better and healthier with weekly cutting and we provide a service that will keep your yard in pristine condition.
