Make landscaping your yard your new years resolution for 2010! Some benefits of landscaping include:
1. Increased home value
2. Enhanced home appearance
3. Good long term investment
Landscaping your home can increase the value of your home by making it look more attractive. Even if you are not planning on selling your home in the near home, landscaping your home can make your home more pleasant to live in.
Additionally, when landscaping your home, it is good to start with a plan. In the plan, you will want to determine:
1. What things you want to do to your home
2. How you want to accomplish it
Some things you may want to consider for your lawn include:
1) removing old or ugly bushes
2) planting new bushes
3) trimming bushes
4) lawn mowing, edging, and grass trimming
5) Planting perennial flowers
Additionally, you will want to determine how you are going to accomplish your goals. For example, or you going to hire a professional lawn care and landscaping company or do it yourself with the help of your family members or friends. Additionally, if you are going to complete the landscaping project yourself, you may want to make a list of potential people who can help you and call them. For yard projects, it is often a lot more fun and easy when you have the help of other people. However, you may also want to consider hiring a professional landscaping crew if you want to spend your free time doing other things.
In summary, landscaping your lawn is a great way to increase the appearance and value of your home.

Lawn Tips
1. Add mulch to your flower beds
2. trim bushes
3. plant bright and colorful perennial plants
By adding a nice quality mulch, such as cypress, you will be able to give your home a fresher landscape which will make it look better. One of the nice things about Cypress mulch in particular is that it tends to last a long time and be a good looking and high quality mulch. In general, we recommend Cypress mulch over other types of mulch.
Additionally, trimming overgrown bushes can make a big difference. Often times, we find people who let there bushes get out of control and it becomes and incredible difference when you trim bushes. This is a great way to increase the value of your home.
One other way to dramatically increase the value and/or appearance of your home is to plant bright and colorful perennial flowers. One thing you may consider is going to home depot or some other similar flower store and asking one of the associates to help you pick out perennial flowers that are hearty, come back year after year, and look great. This is another simple and effective way to increase the value of your home.
In summary, I hope that your maintain your home well and keep fresh mulch around the flower beds, keep the bushes trimmed, and plant nice perennial flowers that come back year after year. These simple types will help you to increase the appearance and resale value of your home.

1. Stay warm: be sure to wear a warm winter jacket, a hat, gloves, and multiple layers of clothing. Also, if you get cold, be sure to take a break in a heated area.
2. Hire a service or buy quality tools. For many people, a shovel and a bag of salt is all they need. However, many people would rather have someone else take care of their snow for a multitude of different reasons and hire a snow removal service.
3. If you’re going to hire a snow removal service, you will want to find someone with at least a few seasons of experience and excellent equipment. One of the main concerns with hiring a snow removal service is punctuality. Often times, a company has 30-50 customers per truck with a snow plow and is unable to service the majority of its customers within 40 hours of a snow. For such reason, be sure to ask the company what their policy about punctuality is and how quickly you can expect the company to show up after snow storms.
Although we are not accepting new snow removal clients at this time, we will be offering our lawn mowing service to Naperville, Illinois and the surrounding areas next season.

The lawn mowing season is winding down for 2009 and the leafs are beginning to fall. Many people are now in the process of dealing with leafs. One good thing to do, is often to use a mulching lawn mower to assist in the fall clean up process.
The nice thing about using a mulching lawn mower to assist with a fall clean up is that it can help to save time and reduce the amount of bags you will need to dispose of.
Using a mulching lawn mower can save time, because it is often faster to mow, bag, and dispose of leafs, than it is to rack leafs. Additionally, many people find it easier to mulch, bag, and dispose of leafs than to pick them up using a rack.
Another benefit is that mulching lawn mowers often do a great job at reducing leafs which can reduce the amount of bags you will need, and disposal costs.
With the season winding down, please note that we will be providing snow removal services this winter. Please contact us for a free estimate if interested. Services will be offeredto: Downers Grove, Woodridge, Darien, and the sorrounding areas. Additionally, please feel free to contact us for a free estimate on a fall clean up.

Many people ask themselves when they should do a fall clean up. Some people wait until all of the leafs are down on the yard while other people mulch the leafs on they’re yard little by little, week by week, and take care of their lawns that way.
In my experience, it is much better to work on the fall clean up every week or every other week than all at once. One reason for this is that if leafs pile up higher and higher, they are harder to work with. Additionally, it takes a whole lot more time to rake leafs, than to mulch leafs. When the debris is limited, it is often possible to use a mulching lawn mower and bag to get the debris off the yard. Therefore, this type of fall clean up can take about the same amount of time that it normally takes to mow the lawn.
In summary, the best way to do a lawn clean up is to do it weekly or bi-weekly (depending on the amount of debris fallen on the yard). By spacing the clean up over time, you can often reduce the amount of total hours needed to be spent on the clean up. Additionally, if you hire a lawn mowing service, you may consider asking them to continue coming one time per week or one time per every week during the fall to take care of the yard. Also, be sure to ask them if they can blow the leafs out of the flower beds, trees, and bushes each time they come. By doing this, especially if the service uses a bag, your lawn will look clean each week and their will be no giant accumulation of leafs to clean up in November. In summary, I hope you consider the benefits of cleaning up your lawn a little at a time vs. all at once.
